This is Public Health
We will be regularly updating this space with profiles that feature the people, programs, and policies that support public health in Oregon. As we launch our new website, it is only fitting that we start with OPHA:
|
The Oregon Public Health Association works to ensure that every Oregonian has the opportunity to live a healthy life. We do this by promoting laws, policies, and programs that protect the health of our families, communities, and workplaces. Our focus is on preventing disease and injury.
Our membership includes individuals and organizations in regions across the state, providing OPHA with a strong combination of grassroots strength and technical expertise. We succeed by bringing together the power of our members with community organizing, coalition building, public and professional education, and advocacy.

Preventing disease will decrease our health care costs. It will improve the productivity of Oregon employees. And it will create an environment where overall health -- not a trip to the doctor -- is the overall goal.
