Help Advocate for Public Health in Oregon

The Oregon Public Health Association advocates for just and equitable health policies to protect and promote the health of all our state's residents. Join us as we engage with legislators and other policy makers to inform them about the importance of public health.

Get Involved!

Subscribe to the OPHA email list to learn about important public health legislation and to participate in OPHA action alerts. The OPHA enews provides a monthly update on current Oregon public policy issues. Action alerts provide an easy way for you to make your voice heard to your state representatives. OPHA emails you a form email that you can then modify as you choose before sending it on to legislators.

Participate in the OPHA Nursing Section's Legislative Visit Day, February 1, 2012 in Salem.  It’s your chance to meet Oregon’s policy and public health leaders from around the state. You’ll learn about the public health related bills that the legislature will be considering during the short 2012 session and have the opportunity to share your views with leadership from the Oregon Senate and House, as well as the Governor’s office. Carpooling is encouraged. For more information contact Rebecca Austen, OPHA Nursing Section Chair.

Contact your state representative by finding out their contact information here. Call or email your representative to urge their support of public health in Oregon.

Join OPHA and our Health Policy and Advocacy Committee. The committee examines current Oregon public policy issues and makes recommendation to the OPHA Board of Directors about how OPHA should get involved. The committee facilitates OPHA members' advocacy efforts and works with public health partners in Oregon to advance public health policy.

Track bills to find out the latest information and status of bills before the Oregon State Legislature.
