Early Bird Ticket Prices Extended!
Hello OPHA Community,
Monday was Labor Day, a day that honors the people who fought for the working conditions many of us now rely on and reminds us that this work is ongoing. Fair pay, safe workplaces, and time to rest are not guaranteed for everyone. Many of the people who made a three day weekend possible for some never got to enjoy one themselves, and many still don't today. Advocating for fair labor is advocating for the health and safety of our communities, our families, and each other, and there is always more room to grow. We carry that work forward together and honor those that helped shape it.
We've extended our early bird conference pricing (again!). Our friends at WSPHA made a great point when they announced their own extension, and we appreciate the call out and are following their lead. To everyone who has already registered, thank you. We're extending our early bird rate through Wednesday, September 30th, so more folks can join us in October. We know public health is under strain right now, and we see so many of you still showing up anyway. We want to make sure we're holding space for that and we hope an extension helps.
A couple more reminders: our awards portal and Board interest applications both close this Sunday. If you haven't already, take a look at both. Nominate someone for an award who brings light to this field (yes, that can be you too). And if you want to help shape what's next for OPHA's future (see what I did there ), consider applying for one of our open Board positions. You can send an email to [email protected] with a letter of interest. Join us, we have cookies (sometimes!)
