Organization Overview
The Oregon Coalition of Local Health Officials (CLHO) is a nonprofit organization that brings together the leadership of Oregon's local health authorities. The Coalition creates a constructive and collegial environment for advancing the broad interests of public health. The Mission of public health is to improve health status through the promotion of health and the prevention of and protection from injury and disease.

Candidate Profile
The CLHO Executive Director occupies a highly visible position within the state of Oregon requiring outstanding communications, leadership skills, and the ability to build cooperative working relationships with key partners including the Governor's Office, Department of Human Services, Association of Oregon Counties, League of Oregon Cities, and policy makers. The successful candidate will possess the following characteristics and experience:

  • Knowledge of state and local public health systems
  • Ability to identify strategic priorities
  • Policy development and consensus building
  • Leadership and communication skills
  • Financial planning and management
  • Organizational development and management
Key Responsibilities
  • Provide and develop leadership within the Coalition
  • Provide executive and administrative support for Coalition programs and committees
  • Assist with development and implementation of legislative strategies to support public health
  • Serve as a point of contact to CLHO for other agencies and community partners
  • Work with counties to support public health accreditation and other CLHO interests
Desired Qualifications
Minimum of Baccalaureate Degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in public health or related field and at least three years of increasingly responsible management experience in public health.
Preferred Masters in Public Health, Public Administration, or related field.


Salary:   $50,000 - 60,000 depending on experience, benefits available
